Australian twin sisters Maricor and Maricar are masters of embroidery. Together they have carved out a niche service which provides hand-made stitching to brands, clients and customers seeking to illustrate something in the age-old method of embroidery. Rather than sticking with traditional flowers and cross-stitch, this duo prefers to create modern typography, intricate lettering and even animated music videos.

“I think our use of embroidery and stitching in a less traditional style stands out and is a little unexpected as an illustrative medium,” they say. “As well as the painterly, graphic and experimental way we approach embroidery, we describe it as painting with thread.”
